The story we're telling...

We are five storytellers coming together as narrators to tell stories, both known and unknown to an audience at 12pm on November 21st at the Hudson Area Library. The program with focus on the role played by fairytales, lullabies, and moral stories in shaping our childhood beliefs and later, our perceptions of the world. These stories leave profound imprints on us, teaching us lessons that we carry with us for our entire lives.

However, not every “truth” we learn as children holds steadfast as we go through our lives. As we grow older, we're challenged by the stories we were told by the people we trusted most, forced to confront them, The twists in our own stories leave us a choice. To believe or not to believe.

In investigating the reality of these tales, we will delve into the nostalgia and danger of stories through the performance of repertoire that includes dark, grotesque stories communicating fear-based morality, utopian fairytales that play out in the real wold after happily ever after,  and songs that celebrate what is to be a child full of wonder and naiveté.
